Punch Press Operator

Brief Description Key Responsibilities: Set up and adjust metal stamping presses, dies, and feed line equipment to meet product specifications. Perform tooling and equipment changeovers efficiently to achieve routing and setup time goals. Verify first-piece quality and make necessary adjustments before production runs. Troubleshoot setup issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production requirements. Ensure tooling and equipment are properly aligned and operating safely. Operate metal stamping presses safely and efficiently to meet production schedules. Monitor part quality throughout production runs to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Inspect dies, presses, and related equipment daily. Perform routine lubrication, greasing, and oiling of equipment. Identify and resolve basic operational issues to minimize downtime. Stop production when quality concerns arise and escalate issues as necessary. Set up and operate MIG, TIG, and spot welding equipment. Produce welded components according to print and quality requirements. Inspect weld quality and make adjustments to maintain product standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one (1) year of metal stamping, welding, manufacturing, or related industrial experience preferred. Experience with press setup, feed line operation, and welding processes preferred. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of metal stamping operations and manufacturing processes. Ability to set up and operate punch presses, feed lines, and welding equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Understanding of quality inspection methods and production standards. Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing reporting. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to make machine adjustments to maintain quality and production output. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer proficiency. Strong mathematical and measurement skills. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple production requirements. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn, adapt, and assist other departments as needed.
