About the Role
Set up and operate CNC Turret presses to produce a variety of parts in accordance with required specifications and work quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Work from setup sheets, prints, program tapes, routers, turret station board, and instructions.
- Plan new setups, call up proper program, and check setup sheet with turret station board to determine tool placement needs for operations such as punching, embossing, notching, forming, and shearing.
- Load tools in tool holders and index as indicated in the tool sheet.
- Input program and set material holders in proper position on table.
- Run sample part and check dimensions and operations performed against print; adjust tool positions or replace tools as necessary.
- Operate machine, load and unload parts following machine cycle, check work for required operations and specifications, and place finished parts on skid.
- Monitor machine for proper operation, add oil to the reservoir, and replace tools as necessary.
- Prepare job tickets, scrap, and daily production records.
- Notify Group Leader of unusual machine or material problems.
- Stack and move material as required.
Requirements
- Experience operating CNC machines.
- Experience operating a Turret Punch Press is a plus.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading highly desired.
- Ability to perform inspections using calipers, protractors, and measuring angles.
- Mechanical and technical skills.
- Ability to inspect and maintain equipment with safety requirements.
- Capable of performing repetitive movements.
- At least 3 years of experience in Fabrication.
- Daily standing and lifting a variety of parts, sizes, and weights (up to 60 lbs).
