Punch Press Operator

About the role

This position involves operating punch press machines at two levels of responsibility:

• Level I: Under frequent supervision, operate pre-setup runs on punch press, use notcher and hand tools, and check work for conformance to specifications using calipers and measuring equipment.
• Level II: Under general supervision, perform set-ups and operate punch press using all types of dies (compound, progressive, draw, etc.), adjust shut height for close tolerances, use notcher, hand tools, and spot welder, and check parts with standard measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate punch press machines (pre-setup runs for Level I; set-ups and operation for Level II).
• Check parts to maintain quality production and ensure output meets or exceeds expectations.
• Perform regular manual tasks, including use of notcher, hand tools, and spot welder (Level II).
• Maintain quality standards with minimal discrepant work.
• Meet or exceed established production quotas and standards.
• Work consistently, including overtime and travel as required.
• Conduct oneself professionally and adapt to change productively.
• Perform other essential tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency (required for ITAR compliance).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of experience in a related field, with additional training in a trade school preferred.
• Ability to acquire proficient knowledge of punch press machining, including set-ups (Level II).
• Adequate manual dexterity to safely and proficiently perform pre-setups or set-ups on punch press machines.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to work with number sequences and follow instructions with minimal repetition.
• Team-oriented with flexibility and adaptability.

Physical Requirements

• Continuously stand, use hands and fingers for grasping, and frequently walk, bend, stoop, reach, turn, twist, push, and pull.
• Occasionally crouch, kneel, or lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Annual eye exam may be required.
• Move within facility and parking lot areas.
