Pump Repair Technician - FL

This role is responsible for the repair and rebuild of pumps based on manufacturer specifications. The incumbent will ensure the quality of repair/rebuild and test equipment to meet Edwards' high standards, while maintaining accurate records of test results and administrative requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, decontaminate, clean, and inspect a variety of vacuum pumps for repair.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, sand blaster, and enclosed pressure washing machines in compliance with safety standards.
  • Take and upload pictures of incoming pumps, outgoing pumps, and disassembly process into shared drives or SharePoint.
  • Read and understand OEM manuals and engineering/technical drawings.
  • Measure and inspect parts for conformance to engineering design.
  • Assist in determining if parts can be repaired or need replacement; look up part numbers and enter them into work orders.
  • Perform repair/rebuild of pumps using manufacturer specifications to ensure proper operation.
  • Test equipment to meet quality control requirements and operational specifications.
  • Learn and understand each type of vacuum pump and how to properly operate each type/model.
  • Comply with all paperwork requirements, including work orders and quality documents.
  • Record all test results accurately on work orders.
  • Paint vacuum pumps to factory or customer-chosen colors.
  • Prepare pumps for shipping, including building pallets, bolting and banding pumps, shrink wrapping, and attaching documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company standards.
  • Assist with cleaning the workshop.
  • Operate forklift and/or other heavy equipment if necessary.
  • Maintain safety standards in all aspects of the facility—Act Safe/Lead Safe.
  • Enter 4 safety observations into the SHE Behavioral Observations portal.
  • Complete required compliance training, including HR, safety, and job training (40 hours minimum annually).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year in a mechanic or related role required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and/or other heavy equipment if necessary.
  • Proven history of working with hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Proven history of working in a detail-oriented role.
  • Working knowledge of the vacuum industry preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to drive customer success through strong customer relationships and customer-centric solutions.
  • Ability to improve business results by embracing change and creating innovative solutions.
  • Proven history of exhibiting a “Lead Myself” mentality, taking accountability for self-development.
  • Capability to focus on team success, working collaboratively and sharing knowledge.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate remotely and in person.
  • Ability to work in an environment with physical demands, including prolonged standing, moderate exertion, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally or 20 pounds frequently.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including physical exam and drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay

Compensation rate: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour.
