Pump Inspector
About the role
The Pump Inspector is responsible for performing visual inspections of materials and/or fabricated equipment at vendor shops or on-site fabrication or testing facilities. This position involves traveling at least 75% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections or audits and review testing for conformance to client specifications, industry standards, and approved procedures and report results
- Review material test reports for conformance with applicable codes and standards
- Follow up on non-conformances and implement corrective actions
- Document inspection activities in electronic formats
- Evaluate and agree upon project quality procedures, standards, and specifications ensuring adherence by all parties (engineering, procurement, manufacturing)
- Identify critical inspections and tests to be witnessed by the owner
- Carry out inspection visits as per ITP's either personally or through 3rd party resources
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, Trade School, On-The-Job Training or University Diploma
- 5+ years of third-party vendor inspection, expediting or auditing experience
- Experience in quality control inspections and tests, including nondestructive testing techniques, mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, pressure testing and coating inspections
- Technical training in subjects such as quality, NDT, blueprint reading, industry standards, auditing, expediting, materials, welding, coatings, electrical components, instrumentation, pressure testing, well control, equipment operation and assembly
- Experience with Mechanical/Pressure Vessels and lifting equipment
- Basic knowledge of material properties
- Possess clear understanding of basic procurement and fabrication processes with knowledge of relevant codes and specifications for the oil and gas industry
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
- Proficient in MS Office programs and Outlook
Qualifications
- Valid Industry Certification preferred (Examples: AWS CWI, API 510, 570, SI, Source Inspector, Electrical Journeyman License, NACE CIP 1, 2, 3, EMA)
- ASNT NDT Level II, III, or ASQ/IRCA Certified Auditor
Skills
This position requires a strong ability to perform quality control inspections and tests, including nondestructive testing techniques, mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, pressure testing, and coating inspections. Proficiency in MS Office programs and Outlook is also essential.
Benefits
