About the role

The Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks 3 board certified / board eligible faculty physicians (open rank) for our expanding Lung Transplant Program. These positions are located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong academic career within a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team
  • Active involvement in evaluation of patients being considered for lung transplantation, as well as ongoing care of patients who have undergone transplant
  • Inpatient care will focus on managing transplant candidates & post-transplant patients during hospitalization, working closely with surgery, critical care, infectious disease, & other specialty teams
  • Outpatient care will include pre-transplant assessments, longitudinal post-transplant follow-up, & participation in multidisciplinary transplant clinics
  • Balanced mix of clinical care, teaching, academic development, & research within a supportive environment committed to expanding & strengthening lung transplant services

Requirements

  • ABIM Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Pulmonary & Critical Care
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Wisconsin
  • Lung Transplant training/experience highly preferred

Accredited programs in cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, & interstitial lung diseases; also providing expertise in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sarcoidosis, lung cancer, occupational & environmental respiratory problems, pulmonary embolism, sleep disorders, and fungal & mycobacterial lung infections
