Responsibilities

• Enhance one’s own academic career while mentoring others in a vibrant & growing academic transplant center and expansive transplant service line.
• Provide exceptional hepatology and transplant care to diverse communities in the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin region.
• Contribute to the clinical education of fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees.
• Participate in the academic, research and educational missions of MCW with robust support for clinical research.
• Engage in a climate of inquiry, quality, & safety.
• Collaborate with the hepatologists, 7 hepatology APPs, gastroenterologists, and medical/surgical transplant faculty to expand our existing transplant hepatology program.
• Perform liver biopsies and participate in multidisciplinary rounds (AMs), outpatient clinic (PMs), and 1-2 endoscopy/clinic sessions on non-call weeks.
• Handle endoscopy calls at night and participate in 1:4 call blocks with no additional morning duties.

Requirements

• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency, Gastroenterology Fellowship, and Transplant Hepatology training.
• Eligible for or completion of the CAQ (Certificate of Added Qualification) in Transplant Hepatology.
• Eligible for full, unrestricted licensure in Wisconsin.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Transplant Hepatologist.

Schedule

60% clinical / 40% administrative & leadership with 4 half-days protected time per week for leadership/administrative duties.
