About the role

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks an ILD Program Director to lead our ILD Program in Milwaukee, WI. This full-time position offers all facets of academic medicine including teaching at multiple levels, participation in research, and practice in outpatient and critical care medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ILD Program, overseeing clinical care, research, and educational initiatives
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate ILD expertise across the healthcare system
  • Expand research opportunities and secure external funding
  • Teach at various levels, including medical students, residents, fellows, and continuing medical education courses
  • Participate in clinical trials and other research projects related to ILD
  • Provide mentorship to junior faculty and fellows
  • Maintain a robust clinical practice in ILD, including outpatient and critical care settings

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in ILD medicine
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible by ABIM in Pulmonary & Critical Care
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Wisconsin
  • Exceptional clinical abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to MCW’s academic missions

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
  • Successful completion of a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
  • Experience in ILD diagnosis, treatment, and management
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Proven track record of leadership and innovation in ILD care

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of ILD pathophysiology and treatment options
  • Experience with electronic health records and medical informatics

Pay

Salary range: $200,000 - $250,000 per year, commensurate with experience

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and evening hours as needed
