Pulmonary Stepdown Nurse

About the Role

Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a Pulmonary Stepdown unit, collaborating with medical providers to assess, treat, and advocate for patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions during admission and throughout shifts.
• Perform procedures and administer medications according to protocols.
• Document care accurately and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Serve as a patient advocate to enhance the patient experience.
• Support pre- and post-operative care as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of RN experience; hospital nursing experience preferred.
• Active RN license in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Specialty certification is a plus.

Skills

• Knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical procedures.
• Proficient in medication administration and patient assessment.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.
