Purpose of Position: Assists in the operation of the Pulmonary Function Lab. Description Perform pulmonary diagnostic studies.Prepare Methacholine solutions for tests.Assist with Bronchoscopies in all areas of Hospital per the needs of the Department. Provide daily support for the PFT and Bronch Lab including ordering and stocking of equipment and supplies.Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot various PFT and Bronch equipment. Perform diagnostic procedures such as ABG draws and sputum specimen collection.Perform 6-minute walks.Perform daily reminder calls to confirm appointments and assist scheduling stat/urgent patients as necessary.Complete daily reconciliation of all PFT reports and forward to ordering Provider.Accurately charge for all services rendered.Perform charge reconciliation on all patients daily, when asked, to ensure correct billing.Provide accurate and complete documentation.Assist in departmental planning, development of policies and procedures, and monitoring of Quality Assurance/Improvement Plans.Train Pulmonary/Respiratory Therapists in pulmonary function testing.Maintain professional growth and development through approved seminars and professional affiliations appropriate to the age of the patients served.Work in the capacity of a Respiratory Therapist per the needs of the Department.Provide Respiratory Care, while using Therapist Driven Protocols, when indicated.Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers. Qualifications Pulmonary Function Lab Technologist Trainee Grade S15C, Job Code XXXX Ability to read, write and communicate in EnglishMinimum of High School Diploma or equivalentCopy of highest degree must be provided at time of hire(BLS) - Basic Life Support certification Must test within three (3) months of hire Obtain Board Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) within one (1) year of hireRespiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)Massachusetts State licensure in Respiratory Therapy Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities encompassed within the position Pulmonary Function Lab Technologist Grade S15C, Job Code 8241 Ability to read, write and communicate in EnglishMinimum of High School Diploma or equivalentCopy of highest degree must be provided at time of hire(BLS) - Basic Life Support certification Board Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)Massachusetts State licensure in Respiratory TherapyMinimum one year of experience in Pulmonary Function testing preferredMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities encompassed within the position Schedule Details: 20 Hours Per Week, Rotating Days/Eves,10-hour shifts: 6:30a-4:30p, 7a-5p, or 8a-6p, Occasional Weekends & No Holidays Organization : Cape Cod Hospital Primary Location : Massachusetts-Hyannis Department : CCH-Pulmonary Function Annual/Hourly: Hourly Hiring Pay Range: 40.87 - 54.58
