Duties & Responsibilities

• Teaching: Although this position has no specific assigned teaching responsibilities, a successful candidate will be expected to integrate students and residents into clinical services provided.
• Research: Although this position has no specific assigned research responsibilities, reasonable scholarly activities, such as publications, presentations at national meetings and participation in appropriate academic organizations, are expected.
• Service: Works with institutional staff and administration to attain the strategic objectives of VCU Medical Center, including patient safety, patient and other customer satisfaction, maintenance and enhancement of public perception, and fiscal health. Serves on institutional committees, study sections, review groups, as a journal editor, or editorial boards.
• Clinical: Provides exemplary care in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, supports the VCU Comprehensive Care Center for Pulmonary Hypertension, expands critical care and general pulmonology coverage. Assists with outreach for general pulmonary and pulmonary hypertension programs and inpatient critical care support.
• Pulmonary Hypertension Consultation Services: Supports the VCU Comprehensive Care Center for Pulmonary Hypertension.
• Pulmonary Consultation Services: Provides consultation services in pulmonary medicine.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. degree, Successful completion of an ACGME-approved pulmonary and critical care fellowship, Board Eligible - American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
• Preferred Qualifications: Board Certified - American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
