About the role

Piedmont Healthcare seeks board certified (or board eligible) pulmonologists and critical care specialists to join its Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. This division is dedicated to developing nationally recognized practices that integrate quality patient care, education, research, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term treatment programs for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and treat patients with complex lung conditions.
  • Participate in ongoing research to improve therapies for advanced lung diseases.
  • Provide critical care services 24/7, responding to medical needs in the hospital's emergency department, general medical/surgical units, and intensive care units.
  • Offer state-of-the-art interventions such as endobronchial lung volume reduction valves for severe emphysema patients.
  • Support patients with a wide range of pulmonary conditions, focusing on accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, symptom management, and preventive care.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO).
  • Board certification (or board eligibility) in pulmonary & critical care or pulmonary, critical care, and sleep.
  • Licensure to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
  • Residency and fellowship training.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing long-term treatment programs for patients with complex lung conditions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and their application in patient care.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art interventions like endobronchial lung volume reduction valves.
