About the role
The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) seeks a Public Utility Analyst I to join the Division of Accounting and Finance. This position is responsible for compiling and analyzing utility data, communicating findings, participating in regulatory meetings, and attending training sessions.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze utility data
- Communicate results of reviews verbally and in writing
- Participate in meetings related to the regulation of investor-owned utilities
- Attend training opportunities to obtain skills necessary for success in the position
- Fill a position in the Finance and Tax section
- Review utility cost of capital, financial statements, and related testimony on utility finance and tax issues
Requirements
- Four years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, public administration, business administration, or economics
- An associate degree and two years of relevant work experience, or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience
- Prioritization to applicants with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate data and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
Qualifications
- Four years of relevant work experience in the area of accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, public administration, business administration or economics is required.
- An associate degree and two years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience.
