Public Speaking Instructor

About the Role

Full-time faculty member in Speech providing leadership, management, planning, and coordination of instruction for college courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach college courses in Speech
• Participate in curriculum and instructional material development
• Engage in assessment functions, including program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes
• Advise students and assist with enrollment and registration
• Support student recruitment and retention activities
• Participate in college outreach activities, committees, and community service
• Contribute to departmental, division, and college planning sessions to advance the college’s mission and goals
• Engage in professional development activities
• Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

• Doctor’s or master’s degree in Public Speaking or Communications
• OR master’s degree with a concentration in Public Speaking/Communication (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)

Preferred Qualifications

• Dual credentials to teach in a second Humanities discipline
