Public Safety Officer III

Shift: Evenings (3 pm to 11:30 pm) • Full Time • Southern Regional Medical Center – Riverdale, GA

Responsibilities

• Performs security services, including electronic surveillance and systematic manual security rounds.
• Coordinates facility response to potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.
• Enforces policy and procedure with equitable enforcement.
• Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques to establish a safe workplace and environment of care.
• Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety.
• Participates in employee awareness and education.
• Trained in the use of O.C. (Pepper spray/foam) and Taser device; follows hospital policy, guidelines, and training for assigned equipment.
• Drives as needed for company business.

Requirements

• DCI within 90 days of hire and maintain current annually.
• Experience in healthcare security or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successfully completed Probationary Period.
• State Security Officer Certification or equivalent required.
• Certification in O.C. (Pepper spray/foam) required.
• Certification in use of Taser device required and maintain certification.
• State Driver’s license upon hire.
• Current DMV H6 report or Driving History Report.
