About the Tribe

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is a federally recognized Indian Tribe located in Palm Springs, California, with 32,000 acres of reservation lands spanning Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, and the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains. The Tribe owns and operates two 18-hole championship golf courses, three casinos, two world-class spas, and a fuel station.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Public Relations Department records and files.
  • Produce and edit a wide range of documents using various software; copy, distribute, and file while maintaining a professional and secure work environment.
  • Proofread, prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries, and edit communications, presentations, and other documents.
  • Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to prepare reports and documents.
  • Draft internal and external communications relating to department projects.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting department expenditures, projects, and workflow.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a team environment and comply with all applicable standard operating procedures and Tribal Regulations.
  • Document and report all exceptions, variations, or deviations immediately upon awareness.
  • Order, purchase, and label supplies and equipment for the Department.
  • Perform administrative duties and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience at an Administrative Assistant level or higher, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Legal background preferred.
  • Good PC skills with intermediate ability to use MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of management, Tribal Membership, visitors, and employees in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and handle multiple interruptions.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to stand, move, and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1½ miles, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.
  • May be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.
  • Must be able to grasp, bend, lift, and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis.
  • Must have sufficient dexterity of hand to use office equipment, including computers, calculators, and multi-line telephones.
  • Must be able to travel 35% of the time in and out of the Palm Springs, California area.
