Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations for assigned public involvement projects.
- Support the development of effective public outreach strategies for high profile transportation projects.
- Create, edit, and produce public involvement documents.
- Monitor and respond to public inquires via public hotlines and emails accounts.
- Organize events including open houses, workshops, public hearings, neighborhood meetings, ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, workshops, one-on-one meetings and other public events.
- Produce and maintain stakeholder databases.
- Develop public outreach materials and coordinate distribution among project team members, stakeholders, and client as needed.
- Interact with the public utilizing a wide range of traditional and innovative communication methods.
- Act as a liaison between technical project team members and the public.
- Prepare, compose, and maintain letters, documents, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by DEA and our clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Transportation Planning, or 5+ years of administrative experience with an engineering firm.
- Strong writing and public speaking skills.
- Maintain reliable transportation for travel.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Potential Salary Range
$33.00/hour - $45.00/hourPhysical Requirements & Occasional Work Environments
- Occasionally work in various positions to complete tasks in different environments, including tight or confined spaces.
- Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Occasionally operate a motor vehicle, and, when required, heavy equipment.
- Occasionally work in low temperatures or high temperatures.
- Occasionally work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
- Occasionally work in noisy environments.
