Public Involvement Coordinator - Salt Lake City

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations for assigned public involvement projects.
  • Support the development of effective public outreach strategies for high profile transportation projects.
  • Create, edit, and produce public involvement documents.
  • Monitor and respond to public inquires via public hotlines and emails accounts.
  • Organize events including open houses, workshops, public hearings, neighborhood meetings, ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, workshops, one-on-one meetings and other public events.
  • Produce and maintain stakeholder databases.
  • Develop public outreach materials and coordinate distribution among project team members, stakeholders, and client as needed.
  • Interact with the public utilizing a wide range of traditional and innovative communication methods.
  • Act as a liaison between technical project team members and the public.
  • Prepare, compose, and maintain letters, documents, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by DEA and our clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Transportation Planning, or 5+ years of administrative experience with an engineering firm.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills.
  • Maintain reliable transportation for travel.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Potential Salary Range

$33.00/hour - $45.00/hour

Physical Requirements & Occasional Work Environments

  • Occasionally work in various positions to complete tasks in different environments, including tight or confined spaces.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Occasionally operate a motor vehicle, and, when required, heavy equipment.
  • Occasionally work in low temperatures or high temperatures.
  • Occasionally work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
