About the role
The Pima County Health Department, Women Infants and Children (WIC) program, is seeking a Public Health Program Specialist I to provide breastfeeding support to new mothers.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers
- Maintain assigned caseload
- Keep accurate records of all contacts
- Refer mothers to other services according to established protocols
- Assists in organizing program activities, timelines, and resources
- Works collaboratively with program staff
- Supports the organization and facilitation of community meetings, workshops, and events
- Maintains program documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence
- Provides administrative support to program managers and coordinators
- Handles routine administrative tasks
- Stays informed about public health best practices and trends
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of experience in the Public Health program related field
- Minimum three (3) months of experience providing breastfeeding consultation
- Experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, and data entry
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent AND one year of experience in the Public Health program related field. (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

$19.74 - $26.64 Per Hour
