About the role
The Vermont Department of Health seeks a Public Health Program Manager to lead and oversee programs supporting substance use treatment programs. Key responsibilities include program development, compliance, and grant management to ensure high-quality treatment services for Vermonters. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential for facilitating coordination among various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage substance use treatment programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage grants and secure additional funding sources
- Facilitate collaboration with community partners, service providers, and government agencies
- Coordinate multiple activities across various stakeholders
- Facilitate site visits and meetings with community partners
- Develop and implement strategies to improve health outcomes
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields AND one (1) year or more of experience in public health or human services related programmatic work including experience leading a team or project.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields AND two (2) years or more of experience in public health or human services related programmatic work including experience leading a team or project.
- OR Two (2) years or more of experience as a Public Health Specialist II.
- OR One (1) year or more of experience as Public Health Specialist III.

Pay
Total compensation includes a competitive salary and a range of benefits valued at approximately 30% of total compensation.
Schedule
Standard office hours with occasional travel for site visits.
