Public Health Nurse III-(Posting# 611086-2895)
Halifax County is seeking a Public Health Nurse III to oversee the Communicable Disease (CD) program, including programmatic guidelines, investigation, surveillance, and reporting of communicable diseases in accordance with CDC and NC Communicable Branch guidelines. This role serves as a resource for communicable disease issues and participates in outbreak investigations within the agency and community.
Responsibilities

- Conduct investigations, surveillance, and reporting of communicable diseases following CDC and NC Communicable Branch guidelines.
- Serve as a resource for communicable disease issues within the agency and community.
- Participate in outbreak investigations.
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one of the following:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health Nursing experience.
- Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and graduation from a school of professional nursing with two years of professional nursing experience.
- Graduation from a school of professional nursing with three years of professional nursing experience, including two years in Public Health.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
- Valid driver’s license in the State of North Carolina.
- Annual flu shot vaccination required (exemptions for medical or accommodation reasons).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
Pay
The hiring range for this position is $61,082 - $99,157 annually.
A non-refundable signing bonus of $3,750 will be paid in the selected applicant’s first paycheck following employment and execution of the Employment Signing and Retention Bonus Agreement. An additional retention bonus of $3,750 will be paid after completing 12 full months of employment in the same position.
