About the role

HilltopSecurities is seeking a Public Entity Financial Services Sales Representative for its Public Finance team in Dallas, Texas. This position involves selling the firm’s suite of asset management products and other services to various government entities.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit participation from prospective entities and grow business with current government clients within a specific territory through personal visits and phone calls.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients to retain and grow their business with the firm.
  • Represent the department at participant organization conferences by staffing exhibit booths and attending other conference events.
  • Travel to meet with prospective and existing participants – at least 50% of the time, with much of it being day travel. Overnight travel is required for out-of-town clients or conferences (typically 4-8 nights per month).
  • Work with prospective clients to obtain enrollment documents for participating in investment pools or other HTS products.
  • Work with existing clients to expand their participation in investment pools or other HTS products.
  • Utilize a combination of phone, email, in-person, and virtual visits, as well as conferences, to meet or exceed established sales goals, quotas, targets, and objectives.
  • Prepare weekly status reports for the Department Manager.
  • File personal expense reports.
  • Perform other functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a specific sales territory with travel involved.
  • FINRA License Series 7, 66, and 52 REQUIRED for the role. Candidate should possess two of the three licenses upon hire and must obtain the third within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated success in financial services/products sales.
  • Experience in working a specific sales territory with travel involved.
  • Knowledge and sales experience in banking, financial services, or fixed income investments is strongly desired.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral (including presenting to groups) and written, with effective interpersonal skills and organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); knowledge of Salesforce is a plus but not required.
