As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will assist with ensuring the health and well-being of residents by providing comprehensive and quality therapy services under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy treatments and interventions as established by the Registered Physical Therapist
- Absorb and communicate resident progress to the supervising therapist
- Accurately document treatments, progress notes, and resident outcomes
- Provide education on therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
- Maintain compliance with facility, state, federal, and professional standards
- Promote a safe, positive, and motivating rehabilitation environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current PTA licensure in New York State (or eligibility for licensure)
- Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care experience preferred but not required
