PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities

• Aid in planning, developing, and implementing individualized treatment programs for residents.
• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments according to the established plan of care and within the scope of practice.
• Help residents improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of observations, treatments, and outcomes.
• Maintain clinical documentation, treatment records, and departmental reports according to regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members regarding resident progress, care planning, and discharge recommendations.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and recommendations to support continued progress.
• Coordinate individual and group treatment sessions and manage assigned caseload.
• Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
• Participate in continuing education, in-service training, and departmental meetings.
• Support therapy aides and students as assigned through education and guidance.
• Maintain resident confidentiality, privacy, and dignity in all interactions.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
• Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Experience working with geriatric and subacute rehabilitation populations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care.
