PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant

About the role

We're seeking a full- or part-time PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Port Huron, MI practice and support speedy recoveries. You'll work alongside the clinical care team and follow directions from the supervising physical therapist to deliver quality, compassionate treatments to patients. With a positive and professional attitude, you'll guide individuals through therapeutic exercises and functional training activities, adapting forms as needed to match the patient's current physical state. You'll document treatments, monitor patients' progress, and communicate with the physical therapist regarding their recoveries. To support home healing, you'll educate patients (and their families) on helpful home exercises and recovery programs.

Schedule

Full- and part-time hours are available between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay

$26.00 - $32.00/hour based on your qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality, compassionate treatments to patients under the direction of the supervising physical therapist
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional training activities, adapting as needed
• Document treatments and monitor patients' progress
• Communicate with the physical therapist regarding patient recoveries
• Educate patients and their families on home exercises and recovery programs
• Travel between the Dearborn, Port Huron, and Sterling Heights locations as needed

Requirements

• Current Michigan State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with a diverse range of patients of all ages
• Ability to stay organized and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation

Outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred but not required. Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic is a bonus.
