Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
• Observes patient responses to therapy, documents progress, and reports findings and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, documents progress, and reports findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provides instructions to patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
• Supports Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.

• Education: Associate Degree
• Experience: 0-1 years
• Licenses and Certifications: Must have and maintain a current, valid state PTA licensure or certification; Current valid CPR certification, preferred
• Travel: Yes, minimally as required (typically less than 10%)
