Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Location: 293 US Highway 206, Flanders, NJ

Schedule

Full-Time, 40 hours weekly

Pay

$30-44 per hour. Up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act
• Assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out prescribed treatment programs
• Implement high-quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers, and facilities with minimal supervision, in accordance with physical therapy principles and Select Medical policies
• Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care
• Maintain a positive level of interaction with facilities and clients, enhancing and expanding client relations

Requirements

• A valid state license, registration, or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (upon graduation from a CAPTE-approved curriculum and passing the national examination)
• State license and/or certification must be valid in the state of practice
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift patients using biomedical techniques throughout the workday (capable of lifting 50 pounds alone)
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work shift
• Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions
• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
• Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility
• Fine motor skills adequate for scheduling, preparing patients, equipment, and supplies for treatment
• Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in accordance with state labor laws
