PT Safety Support Associate - Colonial (5571)

About the role

We are seeking a Safety Support Associate to join our Interim Housing team at the Colonial Motel location in Long Beach, CA. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the interim housing site and supporting both staff and participants.

Responsibilities

• Avoid potential conflicts of interest and ensure the integrity of our programs by complying with applicable state and local laws.
• Proactively monitor the site’s facilities and grounds for any concerns and build rapport with participants to maintain safety.
• Coordinate with the onsite case management team to provide support and assist with implementing security and support systems, protocols, and policies.
• Respond to security and crisis situations using non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation strategies, including the team approach.
• Assist with the development of forms, procedures, and manuals for the Metro LA Interim Housing.
• Complete reports as necessary or requested.
• Attend meetings and provide input and feedback related to safety and support operations.

Requirements

• One (1) year experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or de-escalation/nonviolent crisis intervention.
• Minimum Qualifications: All levels of experience and education welcome. General Staff Requirements include obtaining CPR/First Aid certification, working flexible hours, and passing background screenings.
