PT Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

Homestead Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for one of our communities in Flint. The LPN will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Communicate with pharmacies.
• Monitor and assess residents' health status, noting any changes and reporting them promptly, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Lead resident assistants and med techs to ensure superior care, including patient assessments, audits, and staff training.
• Supervise and support Caregivers in delivering care.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.

Requirements

• Current and valid LPN license in Michigan.
• Proven experience in a successful nursing role within a senior living or long-term care environment, with most experience in a management role.
• Working knowledge of nursing home regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Ability to relate positively to residents, their families, employees, and the community at large, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
