About the role
CENTERS, LLC is a professional management firm specializing in facility, operation, and program management for higher education. The firm unites site staff with a centralized administrative team to deliver customized, high-quality services. This position will work on-site at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Sonnentag Center, a major athletic, recreation, and event center set to open summer of 2024. The new Sonnentag Center will serve as a venue for university and community events, concerts, and home to Eau Claire Men’s and Women’s Athletics.
Responsibilities
- Control access to the fitness center, verify membership, answer general facility and program questions, and direct members and guests
- Ensure patrons are properly using fitness equipment; approach and educate members on proper usage and policies; spot lifts
- Assist with preventative maintenance through routine cleaning of fitness equipment, re-aligning equipment, re-racking weights, and straightening activity spaces
- Restock consumable supplies and patron amenities as needed
- Ensure cleanliness of the building by completing assigned checklists in all restrooms, lounge areas, and activity spaces
- Understand and demonstrate competencies in the department Emergency Action Plan; participate in risk management building audits each semester
- Attend all staff meetings, monthly meetings, and communicate as needed through emails, group messaging, and telephone
- Assist with events as needed
Requirements
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid/AED or ability to obtain
- Ability to work in a fitness center environment
- Ability to arrive promptly for shifts
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to enforce policies

Work Environment:
- Office environment/fitness center environment
- Moderate to loud noise
- Non-smoking environment
- Maintain flexible hours
Physical Demands:
- Walking or working in the fitness center
- Must be able to traverse throughout the building, including ascending/descending building levels and occasionally ladders or stools
- Must be able to lift, move, and set up items weighing as much as 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to discuss, converse with, and exchange accurate information with patrons, staff, and stakeholders
