Key Responsibilities
- Administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests to pediatric and adult patients.
- Gives paper and pencil tests or utilize neuropsychological instruments that access memory learning, and problem solving ability, speed, strength, coordination, hearing, touch and/or vision.
- Accurately score, organize, and protect test materials.
- Score measures given as part of assessment batteries.
- Write detailed behavioral observations for each patient.
- Participate in training activities; support and assist in training Vanderbilt Health students and trainees.
Job Requirements
- Consistent with guidelines from the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology, Certified Psychological Assistants (psychometrists) require:
- Master’s degree in psychology, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university
- Completion of necessary coursework to be license eligible in TN
- Completion of a supervised practicum in psychological assessment totaling a minimum of 300 clinical hours.
Job Preference
Tennessee Certified Psychological Assistant License preferred
Technical Capabilities
- Observation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of observation in practical applications of a difficult nature.
- Test Scoring (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of test scoring in practical applications of a difficult nature.
