Psychology Program Manager (Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program)

About the role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Organize work, set priorities, delegate tasks, and meet multiple deadlines.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately and guide staff in using these tools.
• Deal effectively with individuals or groups.
• Manage and direct the work of others to accomplish program goals and objectives.
• Translate management goals and objectives into well-coordinated and controlled work operations.
• Analyze organizational and operational problems and develop and implement solutions that result in sound operation of the program.
• Direct, administer, and manage all aspects of the program, including comprehensive planning, developing, and implementing programs, policies, and procedures.
• Determine program needs, oversee the type, quality, and quantity of services provided, set priorities, and establish short and long-range program goals, initiatives, and direction.
• Coordinate programming with program managers from other programs, as well as in the Mental Health Care Line, with responsibility to negotiate service agreements and other forms of collaboration.
• Collaborate with discipline supervisors, including psychiatry, psychology, social work, primary care, and nursing, by providing input in hiring, performance reviews, incentives, and discipline.
• Collaborate with clerical supervisors for similar input.
• Provide clinical consultation in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic practices and clinical practice guidelines.
• Create a work environment that acknowledges and respects widely divergent interests, points of view, and discipline perspectives and provide support, encouragement, and direction to all staff.
• Triage and assign referrals for services in a systematic way and make treatment recommendations.
• Monitor for the provision of services to be delivered in a manner that meets VA guidelines and standards.
• Implement ongoing program evaluation and outcome projects using data-driven quality assurance processes, including establishing and monitoring team production and performance standards, implementing patient treatment outcome and satisfaction projects, overseeing the completion of evaluation reports.
• Establish and modify clinic scheduling profiles for all the staff.
• Agree and certify timecards for the staff.
• Regularly meet with staff, and on an as needed basis for urgent and emergent situations.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.
