About the Role

A psychiatrist is needed to provide inpatient psychiatric care in a correctional facility setting. The role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, managing medications, and collaborating with healthcare and correctional staff to ensure comprehensive care for adult male inmates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Manage medications with prescriptive authority
• Collaborate with healthcare and correctional staff
• Document patient care and progress
• Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Handle a caseload of 12-16 patients per day

Requirements

• Licensed psychiatrist
• Experience in inpatient mental health
• Comfortable working in a secure correctional environment
• Ability to manage adult male patients with various mental health conditions, including severe mental illness, depression, and anxiety

Schedule

Full-time day shifts, on-site role with no call required.
