Psychiatrist - Locum Coverage

About the role

We are seeking a psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care in a correctional facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult male inmates
• Developing individualized treatment plans
• Managing medication and monitoring mental health conditions such as severe mental illness, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff and correctional officers
• Maintaining thorough documentation and participating in treatment planning meetings

Requirements

• Prescriptive authority
• Ability to handle a caseload of 12-16 patients daily
• Experience in psychiatric evaluation and medication management in a correctional environment preferred
• Full-time availability for day shifts, Monday through Friday

Schedule

This role involves working on-site in a secure correctional facility, with no call requirements and a flexible patient caseload based on facility needs.
