About the Role

This inpatient psychiatrist position requires board certification to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adult patients with serious mental illness, forensic cases, dual diagnoses, and court-ordered individuals at a state hospital. The role focuses on long-term treatment in a structured environment with a patient census of 297, managing a caseload of 18-25 patients. The position is full-time, based on-site, and supported by nursing and administrative staff, with no call duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for adult patients with serious mental illness, forensic cases, dual diagnoses, and court-ordered individuals.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
• Manage medications in a long-term care setting.
• Provide variable follow-up and evaluation times based on patient needs.
• Deliver high-quality inpatient care with an emphasis on comprehensive patient management.

Schedule
