About the Role

Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a psychiatrist to join the growing Department of Psychiatry in Southern New Jersey. This full-time academic faculty position offers an appointment with the potential to obtain the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The role involves providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings across two health systems in South Jersey.

The selected candidate will collaborate with clinical staff for day-to-day patient treatment and contribute academically by teaching medical students, residents, and allied health professionals. This position is eligible for academic promotion within the university and may be granted tenure upon successful completion of criteria outlined in the Rowan-Virtua SOM Faculty Bylaws.

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary psychiatric care.
  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services within two health systems in South Jersey.
  • Work closely with clinical staff for the day-to-day treatment of patients.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and allied health professionals in an academic capacity.

Requirements

  • Valid New Jersey Medical License.
  • Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (university will not sponsor a work visa for this position).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $260,000–$280,000, in compliance with the State of New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act. Salary offers consider factors such as scope of responsibilities, work experience, education, training, key skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
