Psychiatrist (Contractor)
Essential Job Functions
- Counsels and evaluates patients for mental health issues.
- Manages medications prescribed to patients.
- Oversight of assigned patient populations in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Coordinates with nurses for necessary medical procedures.
- Communicates with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Participates in staff training and development.
- Maintains compliance with agency documentation standards.
- Contributes to the development of programs related to psychiatric care.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry, and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Current license to practice in Illinois.
- At least 2 years of experience working with adults.
- Participation in CME activities as required by Maintenance of Certification.
Additional Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of relevant screening and criminal background checks.
Salary
The starting rate for this position is negotiable, based on skill and experience level.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
