Psychiatric Social Worker - Children Mobile Crisis Team

About the role

VNS Health Psychiatric Social Workers deliver psychosocial services to mentally ill patients in the community, including assessment, counseling, care management, and referrals. They coordinate with community agencies, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and provide outreach to individuals in need of mental health intervention. The role involves developing short-term service plans, maintaining case records, encouraging clients to accept services, and serving as a resource for clinical and administrative policies. Additional responsibilities include supervising junior staff, participating in community programs, and assisting with crisis intervention when required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) registration in New York State
• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Minimum of one year of healthcare social work experience
• Bilingual skills may be required depending on operational needs
