About the Practice

Casa Pacifica Centers for Children & Families, located in Camarillo, CA, has been a leading provider of children’s mental health services since 1994. We follow a relationship-based approach to supporting and serving youth and their families, meeting people where they are and guiding them through connected relationships to build on strengths and meet their needs.

This position supports four of Casa Pacifica’s programs:

• Camino a Casa: A private insurance residential program with a maximum capacity of 25 beds and average lengths of stay of 4 to 8 weeks.
• Short-Term Residential Treatment Program: Maximum capacity of 14 beds with an average length of stay of 6 to 12 weeks.
• Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): An alternative to residential and inpatient treatment with an average length of stay of 6 to 8 weeks.
• Education Cottage: Maximum capacity of 16 beds with lengths of stay of 6 to 9 months.

Individualized treatment programs are tailored to each child’s needs and supported by a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified professionals, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, licensed vocational nurses, academic facilitators and educators, recreational therapists, and youth development specialists.

All programs are fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation and the Association of Children’s Residential Centers. Casa Pacifica’s programs are licensed/certified by the California Department of Education, California Department of Health Care Services, and the California Department of Social Services.

About the Role

This is a tele-residential services vacation coverage position for child and adolescent services (ages 12–17). Coverage is Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM PT, using Avatar EMR.

• Supports the Short-Term Residential Unit (14 beds), PHP/IOP (8 youths), Residential Cottage (25 beds), and Education Cottage (16 beds).
• Average of 30 patients per week.
• No evening or weekend call required.
• Includes patient-specific follow-up conversations with clinicians and rounding with nurses as needed.
• Nursing support available during clinic hours to assist with medi-sets and monitoring high-risk patients.

Nursing coverage schedule:

• Monday–Friday: RN coverage 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, LVNs until 9:00 PM.
• Saturday–Sunday: LVN coverage 9 AM–1 PM and 4 PM–9 PM.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a psychiatric facility or department.

Camarillo is conveniently located halfway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, serving as a central hub for exploring Southern California’s uncrowded beaches. Our 25-acre campus, nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, includes residential cottages, classrooms, a fully equipped music room, gymnasium, pool, play fields, youth counseling rooms, training/conference space, a medical clinic, and administrative offices.

The campus is seven miles from the Pacific Ocean, midway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.
