Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat the mental health needs of patients in collaboration with psychiatrists.
• Formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, and order/interpret laboratory test results.
• Provide emergency psychiatric services, physician and psycho-social examinations.
• Develop and manage patient care plans with proper evaluation.
• Consult with patients and families facing complex disorders, working integratively with primary healthcare providers.
• Perform invasive procedures as required.
• Educate patients on health-promoting lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and injury/illness management.
• Prepare medical records and refer patients in compliance with Joint Commission, Federal, and State regulations, as well as Oceans’ policies and performance standards.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Current RN License and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
• Flexibility with work schedule and ability to work independently within prescribed limits.
• Sound knowledge of nursing practice with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Competency in interpersonal communication, verbal/written skills, and Medicare/regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and adult learning principles.
• CPR certification and completion of an Oceans-approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

Work Environment

• Subject to frequent interruptions and occasional high-pressure situations due to multiple inquiries.
• Fast-paced and potentially stressful; requires mental and physical resilience.
• 90% or more of time spent indoors, with exposure to temperature variations.
