About the role

Valley Regional Hospital is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will partner with multiple stakeholders on an interdisciplinary team and share our passion for serving critical access communities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
  • See patients and provide brief psychotherapy & psychopharmacological medication management
  • Refer to other psychiatric and medical services as needed
  • Work collaboratively with VRH primary care medical providers, practice staff, and community mental health providers
  • Engage the patient and family to develop treatment plans that address identified goals
  • Participate in relevant and ongoing professional training

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of independent practice experience with minimal physician oversight
  • New graduate candidates must assist our triage element over Behavioral Health, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine until appropriate experience is gained
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric nursing. Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
  • Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered care
  • Able to document and navigate EHR independently
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality

Qualifications
