Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and behavioral assessments—primarily via telehealth, virtual visits.
- Recommend adjustments through the case review process or in ad hoc consultations, including medication recommendations and other interventions.
- Advise on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care, supporting treatment in the medical setting until patients can be engaged in specialized care as appropriate.
- Monitor, adjust, and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring safety and efficacy.
- Work in collaboration with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and nursing staff to ensure a seamless, holistic approach to patient wellness.
- Provide targeted interventions and crisis management support for residents with complex, co-occurring behavioral health needs.
- Maintain precise, timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Education Program
- Board Certified through ANCC
- Licensed or ability to obtain licensure(s) through the Board of Nursing
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State(s) of required of work
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with strong verbal skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license and minimum state-required liability auto insurance; local travel is required
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of clinical experience as a Psychiatrics Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
