Psychiatric/DD Nurse Manager

Effective October 1, 2025, the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has transitioned to its new name—the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health. Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in the organization and administration of the Nursing Department
• Serve as Clinical Nurse Manager under the direction of the DON
• Supervise psychiatric nurse supervisors; directs/supervises licensed and non-licensed nursing staff
• Communicate/collaborate with interdisciplinary team(s) and other clinical disciplines
• Develop and oversee patient education by all clinical disciplines
• Develop an annual plan for professional improvement
• Monitor and train nursing staff

Requirements

• Current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code
• 36 months exp. in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities
• Completion of undergraduate core program in nursing
• 18 months trg. or 18 months exp. in supervision
• 18 months trg. or 18 months exp. in management
• 12 months trg. or 12 months exp. in counseling
• 12 months trg. or 12 months exp. in public relations

Qualifications

• Equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.

Pay

The pay range is #16 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 7:30pm (Flexible Schedule).
