PSS Personal Support Specialist Adult Homecare

Home, Hope and Healing, Inc. is seeking a PSS to work one-on-one with an adult client in the Canaan area on weekends. Shifts are variable in length, primarily day shifts, with flexibility to build a schedule that meets your needs. Positions are available per diem or full-time, and you may choose your work location.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home assistance as part of the client’s authorized and individualized care plan
• Assist with personal hygiene: bathing, grooming, oral care
• Help with dressing and undressing
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding
• Support transfer and/or mobility
• Ensure safe restroom use and maintain continence
• Assist with activities of daily living, including:
  • Meal preparation
  • Communication via telephone, email, or internet
  • General housework: laundry, dishes, grocery shopping
  • Maintaining a hygienic residence

Support

Our model of care includes regional Nurse Managers who provide ongoing support, supervision, and education to team members.

Requirements

• PSS certificate is preferred but not required; must enroll in a PSS course upon hire and complete it within 6 months (reimbursement for course fees after meeting work requirements)
• Current PSS certificate or CNA certification is highly preferred
• One year of clinical experience in home care preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Successful passing of background checks
