PSS Personal Support Specialist Adult Homecare

About the role

Home, Hope and Healing, Inc. is seeking a Personal Support Services (PSS) professional to work with an adult client in the Garland area. Shifts are variable lengths of time, with a preference for filling primarily day shifts. We will work with candidates to build schedules that meet their needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered care in the home setting
• Perform tasks as outlined in the client's care plan, including:
• Personal hygiene: bathing, grooming, and oral care
• Dressing and undressing
• Meal preparation and feeding
• Transfer and/or mobility
• Safe restroom use and maintaining continence
• Activities of daily living: communication, housework, and grocery shopping
• Support clients in accessing necessary resources and services
• Collaborate with regional Nurse Managers for ongoing support, supervision, and education

Requirements

• Possess and maintain an active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• One year of clinical experience in home care is preferred
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Pass background checks successfully

Qualifications

A PSS certificate is preferred but not required. Candidates must enroll in a PSS course upon hire and complete the course within six months, with reimbursement for course fees after meeting work requirements. Alternatively, candidates must possess and maintain an active CNA certification. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and flexibility are essential.
