PSM SUPERVISOR

About the Role

This position maintains the facility process safety management program in accordance with the JBS Tolleson corporate Ammonia Refrigeration Management program.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Coordinate and ensure all Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) are performed as required.
• Ensure the PSM program is always audit-ready.
• Ensure monthly PSM team meetings are held and documented with meeting minutes.
• Ensure follow-up tracking is documented on all PHA recommendations to closure.
• Ensure follow-up tracking is documented on all Compliance Audit “Exceptions” and “Other Corrective Actions.”
• Schedule and coordinate quarterly updates with the Plant Engineer and affected employees on all PHA open items, Compliance Audit open Exceptions and Recommendations, and Mechanical Integrity Inspection open defects.
• Assist facility Safety in managing the Hot Work Program and Emergency Action Plan.
• Ensure proper preventative maintenance procedures are written with detailed long text and revised as necessary on all ammonia equipment.
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are written on all ammonia equipment, maintained current and accurate, and updated as often as necessary.
• Ensure operating procedures are certified annually to be current and accurate.
• Assist in environmental issues related to the Ammonia Refrigeration System.
• Provide PSM leadership across all shifts in establishing, organizing, planning, and implementing the PSM program and corporate ammonia initiatives.
• Ensure Refrigeration Operators are trained, and training is documented.
• Revise the facility PSM program according to JBS Tolleson Corporate PSM Team revisions sent out periodically.
• Ensure appropriate PSM documentation and procedures (i.e., MOC, Line Break, and PHA) are followed on all ammonia projects.
• Coordinate associated ammonia best practices across the plant and facilitate continuous improvement.
• Participate in monthly Corporate PSM Coordinator conference calls.
• Attend the annual JBS Tolleson Ammonia Safety & Best Practices Workshop.
• Network with the JBS Tolleson PSM Team to remain aligned, up-to-date on information, and current on direction shared across all JBS Tolleson ammonia refrigeration facilities.
• Have access to up-to-date “Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices” for Ammonia Refrigeration, specifically the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• A minimum of two years working experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and associated PSM requirements is preferred.
• Working and technical knowledge of refrigeration and maintenance systems, equipment installation/startups, and plant utility equipment is preferred.
• Experience working with vendors and contractors is preferred.

Skills

• Proficient with Word and Excel software applications.
• AutoCAD experience is helpful.
• Knowledgeable of company safety policies and procedures.
• Good interpersonal and team skills to function as a team member and leader.
• Good organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess good leadership skills.

Work Environment

This position is in a manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment.

Schedule

This role requires working 1st shift hours with occasional overtime and weekends. Flexibility in scheduling is open to discussion.

• Heavy physical demands: occasionally exerting 50-100 lbs of force, frequently 50+ lbs, or 10-20 lbs constantly.
