PSM Coordinator/Manager

Develop, implement, and audit Process Safety Management programs, policies, and procedures for Tallgrass Energy pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the process hazards assessment process and provide site lead support to hazard review investigation for incidents.
  • Manage and facilitate the PSM process to include pipeline operations, Engineering & Construction (E&C), and corporate teams.
  • Assess Engineering and Construction projects by working closely with Operations and Project Managers to ensure effective communication and planning from conceptual design through the project life; ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Prepare site projects for internal and corporate Process Safety inspections.
  • Identify, assess, and document risk reduction and control strategies for significant hazards; plan, organize, facilitate, and lead assessment and control activities.
  • Train and mentor Operations, Engineering, and Construction teams on new and/or modified procedures.
  • Audit and enforce compliance procedures and processes.
  • Conduct safety training programs for employees and contractors as needed.
  • Serve as an advisory member and Subject Matter Expert on safety-related matters.
  • Interact with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and consistently high performance.
  • Work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Perform other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Occupational Safety, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, applying principles and practices of risk assessment, safety engineering, and hazard management.
  • Previous experience in technical safety, systems safety, and process safety tools/techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of OSHA PSM regulations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Physical Demands

  • Bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Minimal safety hazards; general office working conditions.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Regular use of hands to type, touch, handle, or feel.
  • Frequent standing and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Occasional walking and climbing or balancing.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • Must clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to employment.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $90,000–$135,000 per year.
