Provider Liaison supporting designated physicians with coordination and organization of administrative processes, including clerical documentation as a medical scribe during patient encounters.
Responsibilities
- Reviews schedule and identifies charts and other records needed to support designated providers during patient appointments or consults.
- Acts as a medical scribe by entering information into patient medical records at the direction of a physician or non-physician practitioner (NPP), documenting patient encounters in real time during evaluations, procedures, and other services (scribe role is limited to clerical documentation).
- Collects patient demographic information needed for charts and billing purposes.
- Assists patient therapy by contacting applicable pharmacies to have prescribed medications available for patient pickup.
- Prepares billing for designated providers using charts and other medical records.
- May conduct research or other projects as assigned by designated physicians.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in state of practice.
- At least one year of experience in an acute medical surgical setting and/or an acute psychiatric setting.
- In lieu of licensure, a minimum of six years’ experience in a similar role is required.

Work Environment
- Subject to many interruptions and occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
- High-paced and potentially stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically with the atmosphere.
- Spends approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building protected from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
