Job Summary

The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is searching for a highly-motivated and experienced clinical research professional to serve as a Protocol Administrative Supervisor. Under the direction of a Clinical Research Pod Manager, the incumbent will maintain knowledge of clinical research principles and specific study guidelines to effectively serve as project and team manager of clinical trial activation, maintenance and closure. The Supervisor will oversee a small staff of Protocol Administrative Coordinators (PAC) who manage all trials for multiple Disease-Oriented Teams (DOTs). The incumbent must have superior oral and written communication skills as they interface with investigators, clinical research staff, study sponsors, and other collaborators to identify, collect and disseminate patient and protocol information. Strong project management, organizational and critical thinking skills are required for success in the complex, fast-paced, highly regulated, and continually changing oncology clinical research environment. The incumbent will be dedicated to process improvement and team success. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Manages, assigns, and performs clinical trial project coordination services for investigators
  • Provides assistance with education and training initiatives
  • Assists with developing procedures for clinical trial project coordination for the unit
  • Contributes to the planning, development, implementation, and management of administrative clinical trial management functions for a unit or department
  • Contributes to the development of protocols, related documents, manuscripts, and Case Report Forms
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees

Compensation

The starting salary for the position is $70,000 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology clinical research
  • Experience activating clinical trials

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience supervising full-time staff
  • Project management experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree preferred
