Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of proposal content for federal, state, local, or commercial opportunities
- Analyze solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, and win themes
- Write, edit, and format proposal sections including technical, management, past performance, and executive summaries
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical input and convert it into clear, compliant narrative
- Ensure proposals are compliant with all instructions, formatting guidelines, and submission requirements
- Maintain consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across proposal volumes
- Incorporate win themes, discriminators, and value propositions throughout proposal responses
- Participate in proposal reviews (e.g., Pink Team, Red Team, Gold Team) and incorporate feedback
- Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain and update proposal content libraries, templates, and style guides
- Support continuous improvement of proposal processes and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in proposal writing, preferably in government contracting or professional services
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Experience responding to RFPs/RFQs and working under tight deadlines
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with federal proposal processes (e.g., FAR-based proposals)
- Familiarity with proposal tools (e.g., SharePoint, Loopio, RFPIO, or similar)
- APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification
- Experience supporting capture planning or win strategy development
- Knowledge of specific industry domains (e.g., IT, healthcare, defense, etc.)
