Brief Description
The Proposal Manager supports the development, coordination, and submission of high-quality proposals, qualifications, and marketing materials for heavy industrial engineering and consulting projects. This role collaborates closely with engineering, project management, business development, and executive leadership to communicate technical capabilities, project experience, and value propositions to industrial clients.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage entire proposal process and act as appropriate to ensure deliverable milestones are met.
- Oversee production process from start to finish within tight timeframes in all contract delivery methods including T&M, EPC, CM/GC, and Design/Build.
- Create interview material such as slide decks, presentations, boards, and leave-behinds.
- Utilize strong graphic communication skills to develop proposals, posters, updates, communications, and other content as needed to execute vision for business development and marketing objectives.
- Analyze RFQ/RFP requirements, refine written strategies, and incorporate win themes into the planning of responses.
- Proactively develop and execute proposal work plans for project pursuits.
- Write succinct, relevant, and superior content within deadlines, addressing the specific needs of the project and the client.
- Identify and modify relevant existing company content to meet proposal requirements when appropriate.
- Perform content editing and identify gaps and proposal weaknesses.
- Work with Division Managers, Business Developers, and Subject Matter Experts to develop and refine proposal content. Incorporate comments and change content based on feedback from review teams.
- Aid in quality control of final proposals.
- Contribute to and maintain CRM / marketing database.
- Cook up marketing materials for trade shows and potential clients, as needed by the Business Development team.
- Manage final photography and final photo archiving for projects.
- Provide relevant market sector research to facilitate development of marketing and proposal content.
- Ability and desire to educate and mentor Project Coordinators on the proposal generation process and demonstrate expected proposal quality through your work.

Requirements
- Proposal Manager – Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a technical discipline related to engineering
- Six (6) years of proposal/technical writing and at least three (3) years in the A/E/C industry strongly preferred.
- Must have a solid understanding of heavy industrial projects.
- Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office products, and PowerPoint/Canva.
- Exceptional persuasive writing abilities and a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work directly with subject matter experts and proposal teams to produce technical content that is persuasive, compelling, and compliant with RFP requirements.
- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and composition as well as oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to successfully multi-task, communicate, and stay organized to achieve strict deadlines on multiple proposals/efforts at a time.
- Graphic design aptitude: ability to create layouts for proposals, brochures, newsletters, booklets, posters, signs, and other printed materials is highly desired.
- Self-starter, ability to meet project deadlines and deliverables without constant or direct supervision.

Summary Compensation
